I had a lot of mileage last few days. And of course took a lot of photos on my way. Here's a selection of my recent walks.

Yesterday I was on a photowalk in Groningen with a nice bunch of photographers. Although there weren't many new things to see for me, I enjoyed the walk. One guy came all the way from Amsterdam. For him there was lots to see. He took my picture with his analogue Hasselblad. I returned the favour. It was nice to walk around and talk to others about our passion.

Some recent photos from my fotowalks. There is no coherent story, but I like these. Now it's autumn. Let's see how that will affect my photography.

This weekend I was in Nijmegen to see the Valkhof museum. It just reopened after renovations. The museum has a beautiful archeological collection, but also features contemporary art. Nearby you'll find the Valkhofheuvel with the ruin of the Barbarossa chapel and the St. Nicolas chapel. The latter is perhaps the oldest stone building of The Netherlands. On these grounds once stood the castle Valkhof of Holy Roman Emperor Frederick Barbarossa.

I visited Rotterdam today for work and took some time to make photos as well. This is the Erasmus bridge. I stood on the middle of the road. I doubt that's allowed. Luckily no police in sight. 🤪

As I wrote in my previous post, I was in Rotterdam. It was a nice day. Was there for work, but I took the chance to make some photos. Especially the Erasmusbridge and the Markthal caught my attention. Here's a selection of the photos I made. There's is a lot to see in Rotterdam. Some parts survived the bombings of WWII, like the Scheepvaartkwartier with the Leuvehaven, the City Hall and the St. Laurenschurch. Other parts are very modern with skyscrapers. Like around the Central Station or near the World Trade Center. Rotterdam is a great place for photographers!

Today was a rainy day. I wanted to take soms photos. So I did and got home as fast as I could. 🤣

Yesterday we had a company-event in the beatifull city of Haarlem. The capital of the province of North Holland. That's right: not Amsterdam, which is the capital of The Netherlands. We had a nice walk in the city where I saw windmill De Adriaan. And we passed the Gravestenen-bridge. From there we went to the Koepelgevangenis, where we had an interesting tour, with a guard as our tourguide. When walking to the citycenter we passed the Teylers Museum. From all around the city you'll see the St. Bavo-church. One of the most beatifull church buildings in The Netherlands. On the Grote Markt I saw the statue of Laurens Janszoon Coster. And the nice city hall. It was a short trip, but I'm happy with the shots. Enjoy!

I was in Haarlem today. I'm a bit tired. Will post more tommorow.

This was just a moment. A moment where I wanted to go to the trainstation and cross the bridge. And at that moment, the bridge keeper decided it was the moment to open the bridge.

This time I've recreated a moment from the Steentilstraat 30-32 in Groningen. The first photo was taken somewhere between 1920 and 1930 (Groninger Archief). The second, taken by me, in 2026.
